Choose to Take Control

Lately I have been feeling very optimistic and positive, especially with my diabetes mindset. And I want you to feel that way too. I am sick and tired of people posting about high numbers and how diabetes sucks. YES! Diabetes sucks. But that does not mean it is going away. Choose to take control. It IS possible. Don’t take the easy way out.

Here’s the truth:

We have Type 1 Diabetes.
We have a reasonable treatment plan.
We can lead a normal life.
We can choose our perspective.
We can choose to take care of ourselves.

Here are your other options:

Choose to disregard the facts.
Choose to ignore safe and correct treatment.
Choose to live in an unhealthy state.
Choose to be negative.

The fact is, we should all be taking care of ourselves in the best way that we individually can. Unfortunately, Type 1 does not have a cure. Be optimistic that one is coming soon. And until then, motivate yourself to be a better YOU. You will feel better.

Celebrate the good days, the good blood sugars, the good carb counting machine that you are! Choose to learn from the high blood sugars, the bad days, and the totally off carb counts. Be positive.

It is easy to ignore diabetes, but please, don’t take the easy route.

Do it for yourself. If you don’t want to do it for yourself, do it for ME, for your family, and for your friends.

You are worth it.
